California Street Cacophony

The construction sounds outside our house have been deafening. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., it's a cacophony of ungodly sounds, from Godzilla-like thumping to that incessant beeping that says "big rig backing up." It's enough to make a girl want to go into the office. (Well, maybe not quite yet. I still enjoy my afternoon nap after they quiet down.)

The thing is, we can't get too annoyed because the workmen are super nice. They joke around, say hi to the dog, and always help us get out of our driveway safely. And, to be honest, they're pretty amazing with those big machines. It's entertaining to watch.
